Our Employment Practices Workgroup began in year 2022 under the Hospital Handbook Project (HHP) program. It has continued as a strong workgroup, producing essential content for our community.
Past resource content includes
“How to Hire & Credential LAcs in Your Healthcare System: Revenue Capture and Clinician Retention,” first presented by the workgroup in a public webinar in June 2022. For access to recorded content, etc, see the community discussion platform and the Program Manager/Director landing page.
“Team-based Clinical Care Work as a Healthcare System LAc. Cultural Competencies, KSAs, Challenges & Success Stories; Metrics & Data Collection,” was presented by a team from this workgroup at the May 2023 Society of Acupuncture Research (SAR) conference in New York City, NY. Presentation + interactive case study workshop with attendees.
This presentation introduced the workgroup's resource work on the team care model, how it works, and the KSAs identified for successfully working in the team care model.

Current and Upcoming Projects include
Job Announcements in the Field to Share, an ongoing topic in the discussion platform. Includes articles on how to be a healthcare system-based employee (what to expect in onboarding, know how you are being measured as a clinician-employee, etc), how to write a job announcement (for our managers), and read and compare job announcements (especially if you are new to looking at job announcements in the specialty of healthcare system-based LAc practice)
Print-able version of the information in the 2022 How to Hire webinar along with a new appendix that includes “recommended resources for setting up your program.” The appendix draft work was community sourced with Zoom (synchronous) community feedback sessions plus asynchronous feedback between summer 2023 and winter 2023.
