Exhibitor & Speaker at the Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine EHR and Tech Expo

I am happy to announce that the Hospital Handbook Project will have a booth at the virtual “Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine Electronic Health Record (EHR) and Tech Expo” conference hosted by the Maryland Acupuncture Society on the weekend of May 21st. I will also be participating as a guest speaker.

I plan to present on

  1. “How do you get your foot in the door of hospital-based practice? First Steps for the Prospective LAc Clinician or Student” and

  2. “Using Metrics in Documentation: How to Use a Validated Pain Scale in Your Chart Note”

Title slide for my live virtual presentation on Saturday, May 21st, 2022. “Getting Your Foot in the Door of Hospital and Healthcare System based LAc Practice.” The presentation starts with information about my journey into healthcare system-based practice, and how & why I started the HHP to help others after my experience in this setting. Then we discuss barriers to working in this setting, followed by advice on how to overcome or lower those hurdles. I also briefly present what defines professional practice standards and how they apply to LAcs working in the system.
